Wedding Bubbles

Wedding bubbles make a great alternative to traditional wedding confetti.

Each guest can be given a bottle and as the bride and groom leave the church the bubbles are blown over them and they look fantastic on the photographs.

You can also place bottles on your reception tables and watch your guests re live their childhood having great fun blowing bubbles.

Wedding bubbles are available in various designs and colours to co-ordinate with your wedding colours.

Remember, when some one blows bubbles, everyone always smiles!

How to make DIY Wedding Favours

Do you need to know how to make up your DIY wedding favours?
Try following these simple steps and good luck!  If you need any further help, why not contact us through our web site and we will be happy to help. www.ukweddingfavours.com

1. Place 2 or 3 layers of tulle nets on a flat surface and align the edges exactly. (Make sure you only have the required number of nets as the very fine material is sometimes difficult to separate.) Place the sugared almonds or dragees in the curved base cup and position in the centre of the tulle nets.

 2. Bring all the outer edges of the tulle together.

 3. Gather in the excess material evenly.

 4. Place a small rubber band over the gathered tulle nets. (this will give you two free hands to work with)

 5. Take a length of ribbon and tie as tight as possible around the neck of your wedding favour. You can now remove the rubber band.

 6. Separate the layers of tulle by firmly easing the bottom layer in a downward motion and the inner layer(s) in an upward motion. Do this all the way around to give a pleasing effect.

 7. Finally add your favour flower centre(s) by firmly pushing into the centre so that the stems are forced down into the cavity where the almonds or sweets are. (we recommend that if more that 1 flower is to be used, these are twisted together first)

Note:
Once the favour flowers are attached you should be able to pick up the completed wedding favour by the flowers. If they come out re-tie the ribbon tighter.

The history of wedding favours, bomboniere or favors

In the UK they are known as Wedding Favours. In other parts of the world they are known as either Bomboniere, Bridal Favours or simply Favours.  Even the spellings are sometimes different, a common spelling for wedding favours is to drop t ’u’ Wedding Favors. This is a common spelling in the USA.
The giving of Wedding Favours is a custom that dates back to early European history where they were given to celebrate not only marriages but also birthdays and christenings. However, this was mainly by the wealthy aristocrats of the period as wedding favours were classed as a luxury and only they could afford them.
